The American Issue, October 10, 1913

The picture shows a mother walking with her young daughter in front of a saloon, where men stare at both of them. The mother tries to shield her daughter from seeing the saloon and alcohol. The men leer at them in a very unfriendly way. The mother is clearly disturbed by the saloon and its occupants, and how this might affect her daughter.

The prohibitionists who made this really wanted to show their hand which was would make your children degenerate into alcoholics themselves. Another reason they made this was the idea that wasting all day at the saloon meant money was being thrown away instead of supporting one's family or the nation.

A mom and her daughter are walking on the street in front of a saloon where men in the saloon leer at the two. The mother is shielding her daughter from even looking at at saloon by putting her hand in front of the daughter's face. The caption on top states, "Who Says She Will Vote to Perpetuate These Loafers' Headquaters?"
